Theft Case solved in B’gam, Accused Arrested: Police

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has successfully solved a theft case in Budgam, leading to the arrest of accused involved in commission of crime and recovered stolen property from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that on 20th March Police Post Soibugh received a complaint from one Ghulam Mohammad Rather R/o Wadwan, reporting the theft of paddy from his granary during the night of March 19-20, adding therein that a case under FIR No. 59/2025, U/S 305 BNS was registered at Police Station Budgam besides initiating further investigation.
Police in its statement further said that during the course of investigation, several suspects were questioned and during questioning one Umar Farooq Dar R/o Wadwan, confessed to the crime and admitted to stealing the paddy and selling it to Toha Yousuf Dar of Gotapora Soibugh.
Stating that 3 quintals of stolen paddy was recovered from the possession of the said accused who were subsequently arrested in the instant case Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to help maintain law and order in the district.
