Samba: As a part of the series of programs being organized under the banner of ‘Fit India Movement’ a nationwide campaign, the Department of Sports and Physical Education of Government Degree College Vijaypur on Monday organized the Fit India Run here from the college campus. Athletes and students from the college and faculty (both teaching and non-teaching) participated in the fit India run with great enthusiasm and fervor.
The main aim of the run was to encourage a healthy lifestyle, enhance physical well-being and raise awareness about the importance of regular exercise among students and faculty of the college.
The fit run was flagged off by Principal of the College, Dr. Vandana Verma, alongside senior faculty members Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science) and Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce).
The Principal of the College highlighted the importance of healthy lifestyle and its contribution towards fostering a culture of fitness and well being-among students and faculty.
The fit India run was organized and coordinated by Dr. Manoj Heer (Sports Convener), Dr Jan Mohd Wani (PTI), Prof. Poonam Kundan, Dr. Naseem Chowdhary, Prof. Meetu Sharma and Dr. Radhika Rasyalandco-coordinated by Prof. Mazid Malik, Dr. Nain Singh, Dr. Sandeepa Kotwal, Prof. Madhu Bala, Prof. Manisha Rani and Prof. Sonia Devi.
