DC felicitates promising women Hockey players at Poonch

Poonch: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Vikas Kundal, on Monday handed over high-quality hockey equipment to talented players Akshara Dutta and Haiqa Banday.
The two players, representing Sham Lal Hockey Club and Power House Hockey Club, have been selected to join the prestigious SAI Hockey Training Centre in Hissar, Haryana, marking a significant achievement for female athletes of the region.
This is for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir that girls have been chosen for training at the SAI Academy, highlighting the growth and potential of women’s hockey in the region.
The Deputy Commissioner expressed pride in the accomplishments of these young athletes and encouraged them to excel in their training.
Both Akshara and Haiqa are trainees at the KI Hockey Centre, which has been instrumental in nurturing their skills and talent. The distribution of high-quality equipment is aimed at providing them with the necessary tools to develop their game play further and succeed in their upcoming training sessions.
