No proposal with govt to establish GDC in Achbal:- Govt

Srinagar:- Jammu and Kashmir government on Monday said that there is no proposal with the government to establish a Degree College in Achbal area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Replying to the question of MLA Ab Majeed Larmi, the concerned minister as per news agency JKNS said that there is no proposal in the Department for establishment of Degree College at Achabal at present.

“The establishment of new Degree Colleges involves huge capital by way of creation of staff including both Teaching as well as Non Teaching besides infrastructural requirements and a good chunk of Land. This Department is at present vigorously involved in meeting out the infrastructural needs viz., Land, buildings etc of 50 new Colleges established vide Government Order No: 48-HE of 2019 Dated: 05.02.2019 and Government Order No: 106-HE of 2019 Dated: 01.03.2019.” She said.

“The Department, at present, is receiving demands for the establishment of new Degree Colleges in Jammu and Kashmir which includes a request with regard to Achabal for which feasibility is being sought as per the norms in vogue on the subject.” She added further.—(JKNS)
