Police organises Seminar cum awareness Prog on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan in Shopian

Srinagar : As part of its ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse, police in Shopian organized a Seminar cum awareness programme on ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan’ at Government Degree College (GDC) Shopian. The event aimed to raise awareness about the menace of drugs and inspire youth to contribute to a drug-free society.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar the programme was attended by SSP Shopian Anayat Ali Chowdhary, DySP Hqrs Shopian Imtiyaz Ahmad, SHO Police Station Shopian along with faculty members and students of the college.
Speaking on the occasion, SSP Shopian emphasized the crucial role of education, parental guidance and stringent law enforcement in the fight against drug abuse. Several other speakers also shared valuable insights on the dangers of substance abuse and the importance of community participation in the fight against drugs.
A debate competition was held as part of the event, where students passionately expressed their views on drug addiction and its impact on society. Top performing students were awarded prizes in recognition of their outstanding speeches.
Police reaffirmed its commitment to eradicating drug abuse and urged students to become ambassadors of change by spreading awareness in their communities.
