Srinagar: An eight-year-old boy lost his life in a tragic road accident in the Hariganiwan market area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday.

Officials told news agency JKNS that the accident took place when a Renault Kiger vehicle, bearing registration number HR51CG/7761, hit the boy identified as Afsaan Ahmad Thekry, son of Shabir Ahmad, a resident of Hariganiwan, Kangan.

The child was immediately rushed to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Kangan for treatment but was declared dead on arrival, they said.
