Massive Fire Engulfs Over Five Houses in Shaheed Gunj Srinagar

Srinagar: A massive fire broke out in the Shaheed Gunj area of Srinagar on Saturday morning, engulfing more than five residential houses.

An official told news agency JKNS that the blaze started in the early morning hours, and engulfed some residential hoses.

As soon as fire and emergency service recieved information, fire service was dispatvjed to area, before reaching on the spot around five residential houses were engulfed in flames, which lqter spreaded to other reaidential houses, official said.

Exact count houses damaged is being examined, he added.

Teams from Fire and Emergency Services, along with SHO Shaheed Gunj Hilal Darzi and personnel from 49 BN CRPF, swiftly reached the spot and worked tirelessly to control the fire.

Their prompt action prevented the fire from spreading to adjoining structures and larger damage was averted.

Cognizance has been taken and cause of the fire is being investigated. (JKNS)
