Ganderbal: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, on Friday chaired a meeting to finalize arrangements for upcoming religious occasions including Shab-e-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida, Eid-ul-Fitr, and Navratra.
The meeting was attended by senior officers from the district administration, police, health, PDD, Jal Shakti, FCS&CA, and other concerned departments.
During the meeting, the DC directed officials to ensure adequate availability of essential services, including power and water supply, sanitation, transport and traffic management, to facilitate smooth observance of these significant occasions.
Special emphasis was placed on market regulation, ensuring the availability of essential commodities, and preventing overpricing and hoarding.
The Health Department was instructed to keep emergency medical services on high alert, with special arrangements at major religious and congregation sites.
The Traffic and Police Departments were directed to implement effective traffic management plans, particularly around mosques and shrines. Additionally, the Municipal Council Ganderbal was asked to ensure cleanliness and sanitation in all public places.
The DC emphasized interdepartmental coordination to address any emergent issues promptly.
He also urged the public to cooperate with the administration and celebrate these occasions in a spirit of harmony and brotherhood.
