Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Friday said that corruption is at its peak in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Uttar Pradesh.

In a statement issued here, Akhilesh said, “An entire gang of extortion and loot is operating under the protection of the government. Looting is going on in every department. There is a connivance of the main people of the government and many officers in this extortion and corruption. This is the truth of the ease of doing business in UP.”

He said that organised corruption is happening in the name of industrial development and investment. “Commission taking is going on openly. When the extortion is exposed, a drama of suspension is being staged. The last stop of this corruption is not the officer but someone else. Many big people are involved in this game,” he alleged.

The SP chief said that the matter comes to the fore when the distribution is not done properly. “The roots of corruption have taken deep roots in the BJP government. The common people are troubled by the corruption spread from Invest UP to police stations and tehsils,” he said.

He said that the leaders and officials of the BJP themselves admit that they have never seen so much corruption before. “In the BJP government, there is looting everywhere, from expressway projects to road construction works. Bundelkhand Expressway collapsed and crumbled a few days before its inauguration,” he claimed.

Akhilesh said that the budget of the Gorakhpur Link Expressway kept increasing. “The fraud is still going on in it. Information about investments from fake companies in the name of investment is constantly coming to light. This game of commission and loot in the investments of companies that have come to light is the real character of the BJP government,” he said.
