Srinagar: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, V.K. Bidhuri on Friday said that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has laid a clear roadmap for ensuring round-the-clock electricity in Jammu and Kashmir, but public cooperation is essential to achieve this goal.

Speaking to media persons in Srinagar, as per news agency JKNS, Bidhuri stressed that without judicious use of electricity by the public, it will not be possible to minimize transformer damage and fire incidents. He appealed to people to use power responsibly.

He further stated that all necessary arrangements are being put in place to ensure smooth observance of upcoming religious festivals, including Shab-e-Qadr, Jumat-ul-Vida, and Eid-ul-Fitr.

When asked about the liquor ban, Bidhuri said that the issue does not fall under his jurisdiction, but any decision taken by the government on the matter will be strictly implemented. (JKNS)
