CUS Conducts Plantation Drive on World Forest Day

Srinagar: Cluster University Srinagar on Wednesday organized a plantation drive to promote environmental awareness and sustainability on the occasion of World Forest Day.

The drive was led by Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Dr.) Mohammad Mobin, who highlighted the importance of forests in mitigating climate change and preserving biodiversity.

Prof. Mobin as per news agency JKNS appreciated the efforts of the university staff and emphasized the university’s commitment to environmental conservation. He encouraged students to actively participate and become leaders in sustainable development.

Others present on the occasion included Controller of Examinations, Dr. Khurshid Ahmad Mir; Registrar, Dr. Syed Wilayat Hussain Rizvi; Dean Commerce and Management, Dr. G. M. Lone; Dean Sciences, Dr. Naseer Hussain Shah; Dean Social Sciences, Dr. Nazir Ahmad; Dean Teacher Education, Dr. Munir Ahmad Mir; CAO, NSS Coordinator, Assistant Registrar, and other staff members.

Dr. Wilayat also spoke about the significance of plantation drives in improving air quality, maintaining ecological balance, and combating the adverse effects of climate change. Multiple saplings were planted across the university campus to mark the event. (JKNS)
