ADC B’pora chairs Civil Society Rajouri organizes seminar on Combating Drug Addiction

Rajouri : Civil Society Rajouri on Thursday organized a seminar at Dak Bungalow focusing on the alarming rise of drug addiction and its impact on society. The event, presided over by Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma aimed at exploring effective strategies to combat substance abuse and promote awareness.
During the seminar, detailed discussions were held on the measures needed to address drug addiction, with an emphasis on community awareness, early intervention, and rehabilitation support. The Deputy Commissioner commended Civil Society Rajouri for taking the initiative and stressed the vital role that parents, educators, and the local community must play in addressing this growing concern.
Highlighting the administration’s commitment to fighting drug abuse, the DC assured full support and called for a multi-stakeholder approach to provide rehabilitation, awareness, and preventive education for affected individuals. He urged collective efforts from civil society members and government departments to ensure a drug-free environment in the district.
The seminar saw active participation from members of Civil Society Rajouri, alongside officers from the Cooperative, Fisheries, Sheep Husbandry, and Agriculture departments, who shared their insights on addressing the issue from various perspectives.
The event concluded with a pledge to continue collaborative efforts in strengthening community awareness, enhancing support mechanisms, and providing necessary assistance to individuals struggling with addition.
