3 drug consumers arrested in Awantipora: Police

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested three drug consumers from Awantipora area.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that during patrolling a Police party of Police Station Awantipora, apprehended three drug consumers identified as Hilal Ahmad Ahanger S/o Ab Satar Ahanger R/o Badipora Budgam, Nasir Ahmad Mir S/o Mohd Ashraf Mir R/o Badipora Budgam and Aftab Ahmad Magray S/o Mushtaq Ahmad Magray R/o Sugam Budgam who were found in suspicious circumstances in a Eco Sports vehicle bearing registration no JK01BA-3092.
Police in its statement further said during questioning, the said accused admitted that they are regular drug consumers and accordingly they were shifted to drug de-addiction/rehabilitation Centre Tral where the test of all the accused was conducted who report was found positive.
Stating that a case under FIR Nos 46/2025 under relevant section of law was registered at Police Station Awantipora Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement police reiterated its commitment to eradicate drug menace and ensure a safe and drug-free society.
