Srinagar: In a major fire incident a residential house was gutted at the Chota Bazar area of Srinagar this evening, officials said,

The Fire and Emergency Officials said that a fire broke out around 6.20 PM this evening in a four-storey residential house at Chota Bazar locality causing extensive damage to the property.

They said that several fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the leaping flames. The prompt action by the fire service men brought the fire under control and saved the surrounding houses from being caught in the inferno.

The fire is stated to have been caused by short circuit; they said adding that no one was injured in the incident.
