Secretary DLSA B’gam conducts review meeting with PLVs, other functionaries of DLSA & TLSC

BUDGAM: As part of calendar of activities, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) Budgam, under the Aegis of J&K Legal Services Authority today organised a review meeting of PLVs and other functionaries of DLSA and TLSCs of District Budgam at ADR Centre DLSA Budgam.
The review was held under the guidance of Hon’ble Justice Atul Sreedharan, Executive Chairman J&K Legal Services Authority and Shazia Tabassum, Member Secretary of J&K Legal Services Authority under the chairmanship of O.P.Bhagat, Chairman DLSA (Pr.Distt. & Sessions Judge) Budgam and supervision of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA Budgam.
The meeting chaired by Secretary DLSA, aimed to assess the effectiveness of the current Legal Services programmes, identifying the challenges in the implementation to ensure coordination amongst PLVs, Tehsil Legal Services Committees and other functionaries of DLSA to streamline Legal Aid Services and to receive feedback and share best practices for improving Legal Aid and increasing public awareness of Legal Services available in the district.
To enhance the work culture, Secretary DLSA stressed the need to further strengthen the bond amongst the PLVs, officials and other functionaries of this institution for the betterment of this institution in general and for the benefit of Legal Aid seekers in particular. S
She thoroughly discussed the role of PLVs amongst them and apprised them to reach the needy people in the society particularly in the marginalized sections of the society and help them through Legal aid Clinics/Clubs, and to conduct door to door campaigns, seminars, awareness programmes etc regularly in order to serve them in best possible way and make them aware about their legal rights and duties.
Further, she laid emphasis on making people more aware about the services and schemes of NALSA, ADR Mechanism and importance of Lok Adalats besides various schemes of Government in vogue.
