Div Com Kashmir reviews implementation, disposal of PMEGP, J&K REGP cases through KVIB

Enjoins banks to facilitate applicants, bring down rejections

SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri today reviewed Bank & District Wise performance under Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and J&K Rural Employment Generation Programme (J&K REGP) in a meeting held at Sanat Ghar Bemina.
The meeting, organized by J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board Kashmir Division Srinagar was attended by Ashutosh Sareen, General Manager Government Sponsored Schemes J&K Bank Srinagar; DGM SBI, GDM UTLBC, MD J&K State Cooperative Bank, Director RSETI, Various Cluster heads of J&K Bank, Lead District Managers from various Districts, Divisional Officer J&K KVIB KD and all District Officers of KVIB Kashmir Division.
The meeting was informed that during the last three years 25864 units have been established against the assigned targets of 7372 units involving margin money of Rs 554.19 Crores against the target of Rs 183.64 Crores, thereby envisaging employment opportunities for 2,01,702 persons.
Besides, during the current year, J&K KVIB has sponsored 11,111 cases against the target of 2507 units. While against the sponsorship affected by J&K KVIB in Kashmir Division, banks have sanctioned 6347 cases involving a Margin Money outlay of Rs 122.33 Crores, thereby envisaging generation of employment opportunities for 49,798 persons.
Speaking on the occasion, Div Com stated that there has been tremendous response to the employment and micro industries schemes being implemented by J&K KVIB. He lauded the officers of J&K KVIB for their dedication and excellent performance and felicitated the role of J&K Bank.
However, he enjoined upon the banks to facilitate applicants, bring down the rejection level of the cases & delay in processing of cases within the approved Turn Around Time (TAT) of 30 days, and advised that designated nodal agencies must immediately release the subsidy amount so that the employment generation units are established in time bound manner.
