ADGP Armed, J&K visits IRP-1st Battalion, Reviews Battalion working

Jammu: On 13th March 2025 Anand Jain, ADGP Armed J&K on his maiden visit to IR 1st Battalion, visited A-Coy Katra, E-Coy and the Battalion Headquarters at Reasi. He was warmly received by Smt. Anita Sharma-IPS, Commandant, IRP-1st Battalion and Sanjay Kotwal, SSP Railways Katra. The ADGP conducted a thorough inspection of the A-Coy Headquarters, Railway Guards, and security personnel stationed at Katra. The Guard Commander and sentries were instructed to remain extra vigilant, considering the prevailing security scenario in J&K.
Upon arrival, the ADGP was presented with a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Unit Quarter Guard. A plantation drive was conducted at A-Coy Headquarters, where the ADGP planted a Mango tree. He interacted with the GOs/NGOs and later inspected the entire Battalion complex, accompanied by senior officers, including Smt. Anita Sharma-IPS, Commandant, IRP-1st Bn, Paramvir Singh, SSP Reasi, Rajinder Singh, SSP APCR Jammu, Paramjeet Singh, Dy.CO IRP-1st Bn.
He paid Tribute to a Martyr Shaheed Gulab Singh. The ADGP inaugurated the “Shaheed Gulab Singh Memorial Park” in honor of Martyr HC Gulab Singh, who made the supreme sacrifice while fighting terrorists in Camp Keller, Shopian, on 19th March 2011. A Juniper (Ornamental) plant was planted in the memorial park as a tribute to his bravery and dedication. A Darbar was conducted with officers and officials of IRP-1st Battalion, providing a platform for them to voice their concerns. The ADGP attentively listened to their genuine grievances and assured prompt resolution.
The ADGP visited E-Coy Headquarters at Sub Jail Reasi, where he interacted with officers and officials. He also inspected vital installations at Bhimgarh Fort, Reasi, ensuring security measures were in place.
