Poonch : Deputy Commissioner of Vikas Kundal on Wednesday inaugurated two houses constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY)-Urban scheme here at Ward No. 01. He also participated in the Greha Pravesh ceremony organised for the beneficiaries Naseem Akhter and Abdul Qayoom.
The Deputy Commissioner commended the house owners for effectively utilizing government support and expressed satisfaction over the scheme’s impact on the ground level. He underscored the administration’s commitment to accelerate the completion of pending houses to meet the objectives of the PMAY-Urban initiative.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner chaired a meeting of the officials from the Municipal Council Poonch and Municipal Committee Surankote, where he scrutinized the overall progress of the PMAY-Urban scheme. He emphasized the urgency of completing under construction housing projects and urged the municipal authorities to expedite construction while maintaining quality standards.
The Deputy Commissioner also instructed officials to address any issues faced by beneficiaries, including delays in fund disbursement and revenue related documentation. The meeting was attended by ACD, Shafiq Mir, CEO Municipality,Yaqoob Choudhary, Accounts Officer MC and others concerned.
