DC B’gam visits Vasuki Nag temple site, reviews progress of revival, restoration work

Budgam : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Akshay Labroo on Wednesday visited the ancient Vasuki Nag temple site at Wagam Chadoora to inspect the ongoing restoration and revival work.
The project, which aims to preserve the historical and heritage based significance of the temple, is progressing steadily, with work progressing at a fast pace.
During the visit, the DC assessed the progress of various components of the project, including boundary walling and chain link fencing, which is nearing completion. The steel mesh roofing and granite work for the temple are also in progress.
Additionally, the hall at the site has reached the slab level, while work on the sanitary complex, which includes the construction of three toilet units and a disposal system, is currently underway, with the brickwork of the superstructure in progress.
DC expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and emphasized the need for timely completion
He also interacted with officials and site engineers, directing them to expedite the remaining work.
DC said the revival of the Vasuki Nag Temple is expected to enhance cultural heritage & tourism in the region and provide better facilities for devotees.
On the occasion, he also met local delegations from Wagam Chadoora and listened to them and assured them that their genuine demands will be taken up.
During the inspection, the DC was accompanied by CPO Budgam, SDM Chadoora, Executive Engineer REW, PMJSY, R&B, Tehsildar Chadoora and other concerned officers.
