DIG SKR Chairs Railway Security Review Meeting

Anantnag,: To assess and strengthen railway security, DIG South Kashmir Range (SKR) Javid Iqbal Matoo (IPS) on Tuesday chaired a high-level security review meeting at Railway Station Wanpoh, Anantnag.

Police Spokesperson in a statement issued here to news agency JKNS reads, Discussions focused on identifying security threats and vulnerabilities, formulating counter-insurgency strategies, and enhancing coordination among agencies based on railway SOPs. Officers presented detailed reports on security measures for public safety, law and order, anti-terror operations, and emergency preparedness.

DIG SKR emphasized the need for robust security plans, continuous monitoring of vulnerable areas, and foolproof security arrangements at railway stations, trains, and passenger areas. He directed officials to remain vigilant and ensure effective security mechanisms to counter potential threats.

An action plan was developed during the meeting to enhance railway security and address identified challenges, ensuring a coordinated response from all stakeholders.

the meeting was attended by senior officers, including Cdr. Sector 1RR Khanabal Shri Prithvi Raj, SSP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal (IPS), SSP GRP Kashmir, CO SDRF 1BN, CO 90 BN CRPF, Dy. Director F&ES Anantnag, Sr. Div Security Commissioner RPF Srinagar, Addl SP NHW Qazigund, DySP CID SB Anantnag, DySP CID CI Kulgam, DCIO Anantnag, BMO Anantnag, and other officials from the Army, Police, and CRPF.
