KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today convened a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar (Muft Bijli Yojana) in the district.
The initiative aligns with India’s vision for sustainable energy development by promoting local adoption of solar power and providing free electricity to households through solar energy solutions
During the meeting, the DC took stock of the current status of the implementation of the scheme, reviewing both the achievements and challenges faced by the district.
The Superintendent Engineer PDD briefed the chair through a detailed presentation about the number of applications received under the scheme, installation of solar power systems, vendor selection and the steps taken by the department to maximize the beneficiaries under the scheme.
On the occasion, the DC stressed upon the officers to gear up the progress under the scheme and ensure maximum coverage of households so that people are benefitted in large under the scheme. She impressed upon the officers to intensify IEC campaign to ensure maximum participation and awareness among the beneficiaries.
The DC directed the concerned officers to identify the gaps and work on a mission mode for coverage of maximum beneficiaries under the Yojna.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Superintendent Engineer PDD Kupwara, Chief Planning Officer, Executive Engineers of PDD, AEEs and concerned officers.
