Budgam, Mar 05 (JKNS):- Recent snowfall has transformed Doodhpathri, a serene valley in Budgam district, into a picturesque winter destination, attracting a growing number of tourists.

Visitors are particularly drawn to activities like horse riding, which offers a unique way to explore the snow-covered meadows and forests.

Tourists have expressed satisfaction with their experiences but have noted that the horse riding process could benefit from better organization.

A tourist told news agency JKNS that everything is going on very well at the spot and they have been enjoying everything here be it hospitality or Kashmiri cuisine.

She, however, alleged that horse handlers have been creating problems for tourists and they aren’t being allowed to move freely.

She demanded that Dodhpathri is a wonderland and everyone must visit here but government must work for streaming of horse riding process at the spot so that tourists won’t face any problems.

In response, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Doodhpathri Riyaz Ahmad acknowledged these concerns and claimed that they are actively working to streamline horse handling procedures to enhance visitor safety and enjoyment.

He said that all other things have been already streamlined while horse handling process will be streamlined very soon as currently there is heavy snowfall at Dodhpathri due to which road remains congested but after sometime it will be streamlined on priority.

The local community, especially horse riders, has experienced increased business due to the influx of tourists.

This surge in tourism has been welcomed by residents, who are optimistic about the economic benefits it brings to the region.

Officials said to further improve the tourist experience, authorities are considering measures such as setting standard rates for horse rides, providing training for horse handlers, and establishing designated riding paths.

With enhanced infrastructure, Doodhpathri is poised to become an even more attractive destination for those seeking tranquility and adventure amidst Kashmir’s stunning landscapes.—(JKNS)
