Srinagar: SSP Handwara Mushtaq Ahmad Chowdhury chaired a meeting at Conference Hall DPO Handwara.
The primary focus of the meeting was on the implementation of new criminal laws, addressing issues related to NDPS, UAPA and assessing the overall security scenario in the Police district. During the meeting, SSP Handwara emphasized the importance of efficient law enforcement, proper investigation procedures and the swift disposal of cases in line with the newly introduced criminal laws. He directed officers to ensure a proactive approach in dealing with drug-related offenses under the NDPS Act and stressed the need for strict action against individuals involved in unlawful activities under the UAPA. Discussions also revolved around enhancing intelligence gathering, strengthening anti-drug initiatives, and improving coordination among different security agencies to ensure a robust security environment in the district. The officers were instructed to maintain heightened vigilance, particularly in sensitive areas, to counter any potential threats to peace and stability.
SSP Handwara reiterated that Police remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of the citizens and will take strict legal action against those indulging in criminal activities. He also urged officers to stay updated on legal amendments and ensure that investigations are conducted in a professional and legally sound manner. The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment from all officers to work tirelessly in upholding law and order, combating drug menace, and tackling security challenges effectively.
