DC B’pora convenes meeting on PDS Beneficiary Verification

Kulgam : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Qadri on Saturday convened a meeting with the concerned officers to review the progress of verification process of beneficiaries enrolled in the Public Distribution System (PDS) database.
The meeting focused on ensuring the accuracy and transparency of the PDS distribution, addressing concerns related to beneficiary lists, and streamlining the verification procedures. It also discussed various measures to improve efficiency and ensure timely delivery of essential services to eligible households.
During the meeting, AD, FCS&CA apprised the chair regarding the status and progress made so far in the survey and assured that the verification process will be completed efficiently and accurately.
On the occasion, the DC directed the concerned to conduct verification process impartially without any bias, ensuring that all actions are carried out without favoritism.
He also urged Tehsildar Bandipora to closely monitor the mobilization efforts, ensure coordination, and facilitate smooth implementation of the survey process.
Qadri emphasized the importance of conducting genuine and transparent surveys to accurately reflect the eligible beneficiaries.
Furthermore, he said that the list will be made public to allow citizens to submit objections, provide inputs, and raise concerns thereby maintaining public trust in the system.
The meeting was attended by ACR Bandipora, ACD Bandipora, CPO, AD Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, DSWO Bandipora, Tehsildar Bandipora, Block Development Officers, CDPO Bandipora and other Concerned.
SDM Gurez, SDM Sumbal, Tehsildar Sumbal, Tehsildar Hajin and Tehsildar Tulail attended the meeting virtually.
