RPHQ B’la hosts thrilling skiing competition at Gulmarg

BARAMULLA, JAMMU AND KASHMIR, INDIA - 2021/02/07: Skiing and skating in Jammu and Kashmir are the most popular activities during winter among the domestic and the international tourists. The winter sports season starts right after Christmas and lasts till the end of March, depending upon snow conditions. Srinagar: To promote sportsmanship, community engagement, and healthy activities among the youth, Range Police Headquarters Baramulla successfully organized a one-day skiing competition at Gulmarg, attracting nearly 50 enthusiastic participants from all districts of North Kashmir.
According to a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that the competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and locals, who showcased their skiing skills on the slopes of Gulmarg. The event was a wonderful example of how the community comes together to celebrate not just sports but the spirit of unity, resilience, and collaboration.
Besides, the event was attended by distinguished guests including Chief guest DIG North Kashmir Range Maqsood Ul Zaman, SSP Baramulla Gurinder Pal Singh, officers of Gulmarg development authority, Tourism department and Youth Services & sports etc. Speaking on the occasion, DIG North Kashmir Maqsood Ul Zaman extended warmest welcome to the honourable guests, participants, supporters, volunteers, and spectators. He emphasized the importance of community engagement, sportsmanship, and healthy activities, stating that such events help build trust and collaboration between police and the public.
Besides, the RPHQ Baramulla pledged to continue organizing such events throughout the year, including cricket, football, and volleyball tournaments. The event concluded with the distribution of prizes among the winners and a vote of thanks to the organizing team, participants, and supporting staff.
