GCW Parade Jammu hosts guest lecture to mark National Science Day

Jammu : The Science Club of Government College for Women Parade Ground on Friday celebrated the National Science Day by organizing a guest Lecture and Seminar themed ‘Empowering Indian Youth for Global Leadership in Science and Technology for Viksit Bharat.’
The lecture was delivered by Deputy Secretary JKSSB Pooja Rasgotra, while students across all major streams competed in Seminar. The event commenced with the welcome address by Associate Professor of Chemistry and Convener, Science Club Prof. Anjali Abrol.
The Principal enlightened the students about the indispensability of science and technology in the present world scenario. He also praised the Science Club for celebrating the National Science Day successfully.
The resource person, Pooja Rasgotra presented her views on the significance of science in the establishment of a student’s career in any field. She shared her journey towards clearing the JKAS examination with Science subjects and encouraged the students to take science as major subjects.
The seminar was judged by Dr Ritu Magotra, Head of English Department and Pooja Rasgotra, the resource person of the event. The trophies were presented to the winners in the valedictory segment of the event.
The event was also attended by Dr Surinder Singh Parihar (Convener IQAC), Dr. Shally Chadha (Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry), Dr Rajesh Kant (Head, Department of Chemistry), Dr Sarita Parihar (Assistant Professor, Department of Physics), Dr Manjulla Gupta (Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry), Dr Sushma Gupta (Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry), Dr Bhawandeep Kour (Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology) and Dr Atiya Syed (Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry).
Dr Neha Gupta (Assistant Professor, Department of Environment Sciences) presented the vote of thanks.
