Srinagar : Police on Thursday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Kulgam and also recovered contraband substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police team of Police Post Frisal at a checkpoint established at Damidola crossing intercepted a suspect identified Mohd Syed Parray S/o Mohd Abdullah Parray R/o Humshalibugh carrying a bag and during search recovered 10.47 kilogram of Poppy Straw like contraband substance concealed in the said bag from his possession.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 15/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Yaripora besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to report drug peddling or any other criminal activity noticed anywhere in their areas and contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People in its statement urged people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
