Green Valley Educational Institute hosted a Consumer Awareness Campaign in collaboration with the Legal Metrology Department to educate staff about their rights as consumers and the importance of fair trade practices. The session was graced by the presence of Mr. Tanveer Ahmad Shaheen, Joint Controller, Legal Metrology Department, and Mr. Nazir Ahmad, Assistant Controller, Legal Metrology Department.
During the session, the officials provided valuable insights into consumer rights, the significance of accurate weighing and measuring standards, and protection against unfair trade practices. They highlighted the role of the Legal Metrology Department in ensuring compliance with consumer protection laws and encouraged attendees to remain vigilant while making purchases.
The campaign served as an interactive and informative platform, where staff members were enlightened about various aspects of consumer laws, including redressal mechanisms in case of grievances, product standardization, and the importance of checking MRP, expiry dates, and ISI marks on products.
To further strengthen consumer awareness, such informative sessions will also be conducted exclusively for students, ensuring that they are well-informed about their rights and responsibilities as consumers.
