“The cabinet met at 7:00 PM and lasted for nearly 80 minutes,” they said. The LG’s address would outline the policies and roadmap of Omar Abdullah-led government.

As per Jammu & Kashmir Reorganisation Act-2019, the Lieutenant Governor shall address the Legislative Assembly at the commencement of the first session after each general election to the Legislative Assembly and at the commencement of the first session of each year.

The 43-day long budget session of J&K Assembly would begin on March 03 with the LG’s address to the Assembly. This would be the second address of the LG to the Assembly in the past four months.

Sources said that several agenda items of different departments were also discussed during the meeting.

“The cabinet gave its go-ahead to the proposals of the Housing & Urban Development Department, Health and Rural Development Department,” they said
