DC Rajouri finalises MGNREGA Convergence Plan for FY 2025-26

Rajouri: Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Abhishek Sharma on Saturday chaired a high-level meeting to discuss and finalise the modalities for the formulation of the convergence plan under MGNREGA for the financial year 2025-26.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, along with other senior officers from the Rural Development Department and other concerned departments.
At the outset, ADDC Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa briefed the chair about the nature of works proposed for inclusion in the MGNREGA plan under convergence mode. He provided insights into the potential projects that align with the district’s development priorities, ensuring effective utilization of resources to benefit the rural populace.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the importance of including projects in the MGNREGA plan under convergence mode, particularly those aimed at water conservation and recharge. He directed officials to prioritize the construction of check dams, water harvesting structures, and other initiatives that contribute to sustainable water management.
Stressing the need for long-term ecological balance, he underscored that such works would play a vital role in enhancing groundwater levels and mitigating water scarcity issues in rural areas.
Further, the DC Rajouri directed the concerned officers to include community-centric projects in the plan, ensuring that developmental benefits reach entire panchayats comprehensively.
During the meeting, a comprehensive review of the physical and financial progress of Capex works was also conducted.
The Deputy Commissioner took stock of the ongoing projects and directed officials to expedite their execution. He emphasised the need for close monitoring to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
Additionally, the functioning of the JK Samadhan portal was reviewed. The Deputy Commissioner called for prompt redressal of public grievances and instructed officials to ensure that complaints received through the portal are resolved in a time-bound manner. He reiterated the importance of transparency and accountability in governance.
The meeting concluded with the Deputy Commissioner directing all departments to work in coordination to achieve effective implementation of the convergence plan, thereby enhancing the impact of MGNREGA in Rajouri district.
