Srinagar:A devastating fire damaged a five-story commercial building and three residential houses in Malarutta Bohri Kadal area of Srinagar on Friday morning.
An official told news agency JKNS that the devastating fire broke out in Malarutta Bohri Kadal at around 4 am on Friday, causing extensive damage to five-story commercial building and three-story three residential houses.
The fire spread rapidly, engulfing the structures before firefighting teams managed to bring it under control, official said.
Fire and emergency service reached the spot to contain the fire in the area, to stop it from spreading further, official said the fire has been contained now.
Authorities have taken cognizance of the incident, and an assessment of the losses is underway. (JKNS)
