The initiative provides an opportunity for individuals to apply for or renew their passports without the need to visit a formal passport office, offering a convenient and efficient alternative. Applicants are encouraged to secure their appointments early and bring the necessary documents for the application process.

The mobile passport van, equipped with the facilities required to process passport applications, is part of the government’s efforts to bring essential services closer to remote and rural populations, the officer said.

Residents planning to attend the Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp at the Government Degree College Salkoot in Kupwara on February 20 and 21 must carry original documents for verification, including address proof such as Aadhaar card, bank passbook, water bill, postpaid mobile bill, or gas connection documents, and date of birth proof such as a matriculation certificate, birth certificate, or PAN card.

For more details on the application process and required documentation, residents can visit the Passport Seva portal.
