Qazigund: It is a proud moment for Qazigund area, that Dr. Tariq Ahmad Shah from Babapora Bonigam has been selected as an Assistant Professor in Chemistry at the prestigious University of Kashmir. Dr. Tariq’s selection is a testament to his hard work, dedication, and academic excellence.

Dr. Tariq began his educational journey from Govt. High School Chowgam, followed by his BSc from Govt. Degree College Boys Anantnag. He pursued his M.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Kashmir before obtaining his Ph.D. from Aligarh Muslim University. His academic credentials are further complemented by his qualifications in Joint UGC-CSIR-NET, GATE, and prestigious fellowships such as the UGC-BSR Fellowship and CSIR-SRF.

In addition to his extensive academic training, Dr. Tariq held significant positions, including a DST-SERB Postdoctoral Fellowship as a National Postdoctoral Fellow at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG), as well as a Postdoctoral position at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Tariq has an impressive portfolio of research articles published in international journals of repute, and he has taught at prominent institutions such as Aligarh Muslim University, IIT Guwahati, and the University of Kashmir, where he served as a Contractual faculty member for several years.

News of Dr. Tariq’s selection quickly spread throughout the area, and a wave of congratulations poured in from the local community. Residents visited his home to express their pride in his achievement, highlighting how his success serves as an inspiration to the youth of the region.

In an interview with JKNS News Correspondent Kousar Gull, Dr. Tariq’s parents shared their pride, describing him as a dedicated, intelligent, humble, and punctual individual who was always respectful towards his community and parents.

When asked about the secret to his success, Dr. Tariq Ahmad Shah humbly shared, “To achieve your goals, one must always keep in mind the expectations of their community, particularly their parents. Dedication, focus, and hard work are key to success.”

Dr. Tariq’s appointment as an Assistant Professor is a proud moment not just for his family, but for the entire region, inspiring many young minds to follow in his footsteps.
