DC Kupwara chairs weekly Block Diwas at Lalpora

Highlights different people friendly schemes like PM Surya Ghar, PMFME, JK Samadhan

KUPWARA: Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today chaired the weekly Block Diwas programme at Lalpora in Lolab sub division. The programme is aimed to listen to the people at their doorsteps to address their developmental issues.

The programme was attended by VC DDC, Haji Farooq Ahmad, besides, SDM Lolab, ACD Kupwara, CPO, CMO, CEO, CAO, CHO, DSHO, AD Fisheries, AD Food, DSWO   Executive Engineers, Tehsildar Sogam, BDO and large number of people also attended the block diwas function.

In her address, the Deputy Commissioner highlighted various Government schemes and appealed the people to take opportunity of these schemes for their own benefit.

Regarding the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna which provides solar plant to the households at a subsidized cost, she appealed to the people to register themselves under the scheme to take benefit of free electricity which will reduce their electricity bills.

Regarding JK Samadhan portal, the DC said that the portal provides opportunity to the citizens to raise their grievances through online mode and appealed to the people to register on the Samadhan portal to redress their grievances which will save their time and efforts from physically visiting the government offices.

She appreciated the people for taking keen interest in HADP scheme which provides them opportunity to earn their livelihood in Agriculture and allied sectors adding that more than 5000 applications under the scheme have been received from Lalpora area alone.

She asked the beneficiaries to register for the PMFME scheme which provides technical and market access support to the beneficiary in addition to financial support.

The Deputy Commissioner inspected various stalls installed by Agriculture and allied departments and got feedback from the concerned officers regarding the achievements and targets of their departments.

Earlier, the VC welcomed the Deputy Commissioner for visiting the far flung area Lalpora to conduct the block diwas proceedings.

He said block diwas is a good platform for the administration and the people to come together for resolving the long pending issues of the development.

Meanwhile, VC DDC, prominent and senior citizens of Lalpora area put forth different developmental issues pertaining to Water/Power supply, health, roads etc.

Regarding power supply, she said augmentation of different receiving stations were done recently to ensure smooth flow of the electricity in the sub division Lolab adding that Diver Receiving Station has also been started a few months ago which has also relieved the burden on old receiving stations to streamline the power network.

She stressed upon the Electric Division Kupwara to ensure power supply as per the curtailment schedule so that people do not suffer in this bone chilling winter period.

Replying the major issue of water supply, DC said major schemes under Jal Jeevan Mission are under progress which on completion will address the water supply issues of the people living in the Lolab sub division.

After giving patient hearing to the issues raised by the public, the Deputy Commissioner assured them that all their genuine concerns would be addressed in a phased manner with active coordination from relevant departments.

Earlier on the arrival, the Deputy Commissioner inspected various stalls installed by different line departments and enquired about the progress of coverage  of the beneficiaries in Lolab sub division.
