Bandipora : The Prime Minister National Apprenticeship Mela was held on Monday at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Bandipora, drawing participation from over 200 aspiring candidates along with representatives from various local industries and business units.
Vice Chairperson, District Development Council Bandipora Kousar Shafeeq, the chief guest of the event, highlighted the significance of skill development and the numerous opportunities available for skilled youth. She encouraged participants to fully utilize these schemes to enhance their expertise and excel in their respective fields.
The event aimed to promote skill development and apprenticeship opportunities for the youth, equipping them with practical experience across diverse fields. Officials from the District Industries Centre Bandipora, Entrepreneurship Development Institute and Jamkash Vehicleades Bandipora were also present, sharing valuable insights on the increasing demand for skilled professionals in the industries.
Speaking at the event, Sahil Rashid, Superintendent ITI Bandipora, underscored the crucial role of apprenticeships in addressing the skill gap.
He said that the scheme has been launched by the Govt. of India in order to reduce the skill gap among the youth of the country and candidates who will register on the PMNAM portal, will be selected and called by the industry.
He stressed that such programs not only enhance youth employability but also build a workforce essential for local industry growth.
Encouraging both aspirants and industry stakeholders to leverage the National Apprenticeship Portal, he reaffirmed ITI Bandipora’s commitment to facilitating high-quality apprenticeship training for candidates.
