Kisthwar:- District Administration Kishtwar has banned the gathering of five or more persons in Kishtwar district.
“Whereas, it has been observed that some people on the pretext of demonstration are trying to attract gatherings; and for these unauthorised assemblies, there is reasonable apprehension of occurrence of any untoward incident which could escalate into public disturbance and is imminent threat to public peace and public safety, these unlawful gatherings are made at main Chowk, roads without any security arrangements and they become source of obstructions, annoyance to the commuters/passer-by/passenger/pedestrians and , in view of the prevailing law and order situation besides keeping in view the upcoming religious festivals like Mahashivratri, Holy Ramadan month, Eid-ul-Fitr etc. there is an urgent need to take precautionary measures to prevent public disorder or dangers that may threaten public peace and tranquillity,” reads the order of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar a copy of which lies with JKNS.
“Therefore, in exercise of powers vested to me under Section 163 of BNSS, I Rajesh Kumar Shavan JKAS District Magistrate Kishtwar hereby orders complete ban over any unauthorized gathering of five or more than five people and organizing protests or dharnas in public places in Kishtwar town and it’s adjoining areas with immediate effect.” It reads.
“Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar shall implement this order in letter and spirit. Violators, shall be booked under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023.” It states further.
“As the notice cannot be served individually on all concerned, this order is hereby passed ex-parte. It is being promulgated for the information of public at large and shall be published on district website, leading newspapers and by affixing copies on the Notice Boards of DC Office, Kishtwar, SSP Kishtwar, MC, Kishtwar, all SDMs, all Tehsildars, all SDPOs, and all SHOs of Kishtwar District.” It reads.—(JKNS)
