Fire tenders from the Sumbal fire station responded swiftly and began a rescue operation to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent properties. However, their efforts were hampered by two gas cylinder explosions, which intensified the blaze. Due to the severity of the situation, additional fire tenders were dispatched from the Naidkhai fire station. After a strenuous effort, firefighters finally managed to control the fire.

The official indicated that the likely cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Meanwhile Police have taken cognizance of the incident and have launched an investigation into the matter.—(JKNS)
