Poonch: A concerning incident of reckless driving has surfaced, following the circulation of a video on social media depicting dangerous driving and racing between two private buses in Poonch.

The video has raised significant alarm among local residents and authorities.

In response to this incident, the Worthy Transport Commissioner, Vishesh Paul Mahajan as per news agency JKNS has taken immediate action. Under his directives, the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) of Poonch, along with his dedicated team, conducted thorough vehicle inspections in the area.

An official told news agency JKNS that, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) of Poonch, along with his dedicated team, conducted thorough vehicle inspections in the area, as a result of these inspections, one of the offending vehicles has been successfully traced to Suranakote and has been seized.

He said, the vehicle is currently being held at the Suranakote Police Station. Efforts are ongoing to locate the second vehicle involved in the incident, with authorities assuring the public that it will face similar consequences.

The Transport Department remains committed to ensuring the safety of all commuters and will continue to monitor the situation closely. Further actions will be taken against any drivers found engaging in unsafe driving practices, he added. (JKNS)
