Pulwama : Deputy Commissioner (DC), Pulwama Dr. Basharat Qayoom on Tuesday conducted an extensive review of implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in District Pulwama.
During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the status of borewells under various schemes linked to JJM, Water Quality Monitoring and Surveillance (WQMS) and various Water Supply Schemes (WSS) .
Emphasizing the importance of timely execution, the DC urged the teams to ensure the completion of all ongoing projects by or before March 2025.
The meeting focused on achieving the Har Ghar Jal certification, reinforcing provision of safe and sustainable water access to every household.
The Executive Engineers from JSD Pulwama and Awantipora informed that out of the total 25 and 21 borewells in their respective areas, 18 and 17 schemes have been successfully completed.
Additionally, the DC was informed that the Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) coverage has a pending completion of less than 13%, reflecting significant progress in the initiative.
Executive Engineer, Mechanical Division South Awantipora also briefed regarding the status of electro-mechanical works and the installation of electric substations.
Dr. Qayoom emphasized the need to expedite the remaining work to ensure an uninterrupted water supply for the residents of Pulwama. He outlined strict timelines for compliance and highlighted the importance of interdepartmental coordination to achieve this goal.
The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer, Hydraulic Circle Pulwama/Shopian HQ Shopian, Executive Engineers from JSD Pulwama and Awantipora, along with AEEs and JEs as well as Executive Engineer of Mechanical Division South Awantipora.
Teams from DPMU Pulwama and the TPIA were also present on the occasion.
