As per an order issued by Financial Commissioner, School Education Department (SED), Shantmanu, a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS, “In continuation to Government Order No. 55-JK (Edu) of 2023, dated February 23, 2023, sanction is hereby accorded to the grant of extension in the term of Dr. Parikshat Singh Manhas as Chairman JKBOSE and Director SCERT, for a further period of one month from the date of expiry of his previous term, January 24, 2025.”

It is important to note that Dr. Manhas was appointed as Chairman JKBOSE in February 2023. His tenure was set to expire on January 24, 2025, but with this extension, he will continue to hold the position for another month.

Meanwhile, sources said that the process for appointing a full-time chairman is underway, with a search committee expected to finalize the selection soon. Further details regarding the permanent appointment remain awaited.

Earlier, on December 3, 2024, the Jammu and Kashmir chief minister ordered a complete ban on re-employment, extensions, additional charges, and attachments in government departments. These directions were issued during a meeting at the Civil Secretariat. (JKNS)
