Srinagar: In a significant move to facilitate passport application services for locals, the Regional Passport Office (RPO) Srinagar is organizing a two-day Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp at the Tehsil Office in Karhama, in north Kashmir. The camp is scheduled to operate on January 30 and 31 from 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM.

Davinder Kumar, Regional Passport officer Kashmir and Ladakh said that a total number of 40 appointments will be processed per day during the camp, ensuring a streamlined service for applicants. The initiative provides an opportunity for individuals to apply for or renew their passports without the need to visit a formal passport office, offering a convenient and efficient alternative. Applicants are encouraged to secure their appointments early and bring the necessary documents for the application process.

The mobile passport van, equipped with the facilities required to process passport applications, is part of the government’s efforts to bring essential services closer to remote and rural populations, the official said.

Residents planning to attend the Passport Seva Mobile Van Camp at the Tehsil Office in Karhama on January 30 and 31 must carry original documents for verification, including address proof such as Aadhaar card, bank passbook, water bill, postpaid mobile bill, or gas connection documents, and date of birth proof such as a matriculation certificate, birth certificate, or PAN card.

For more details on the application process and required documentation, residents can visit the Passport Seva portal.
