Karnah: The Karnah sub-division witnessed grand Republic Day celebrations with multiple events held across the region. The main event took place at the Mini Secretariat in Tangdhar, where SDM Karnah, Zaffar Ahmad, hoisted the national flag and took the salute from an impressive parade.
Contingents from the police, NCC, Fire and Emergency Services, and Forest Protection Forces participated in the parade, while students from various schools added vibrancy to the event with colorful cultural programs, including a well-received Pahari drama.
Addressing the gathering, SDM Zaffar Ahmad highlighted the ongoing developmental initiatives in the border sub-division, emphasizing that progress in Karnah is in line with the rest of the country.
In addition to the main event, the Indian Army organized a celebration in the border village of Teetwal along the Line of Control (LoC). Similar Republic Day programs were conducted at private schools in Chamkote and Tangdhar, where school heads unfurled the national flag with patriotic fervor.
The Tehsil Legal Services Committee Tangdhar also marked the occasion at the local court complex. Sub-Judge and Chairman Mansoor Ahmad Mir presided over the event and hoisted the national flag, with police contingents participating in the ceremonial parade.
At Government Degree College (GDC) Tangdhar, Prof. Mushtaq Ahmad Wani hoisted the national flag, and students presented a variety of cultural programs showcasing the rich heritage and patriotic spirit of the region.
Celebrations extended to Khudri Karnah, where officials associated with the 12 MW power project proudly hoisted the tricolor and took the salute from the parade.
