KUPWARA: In a progressive step towards enhancing the livelihoods of the fishing community in Kupwara district, MLA Langate, Khurshid Ahmad Sheikh and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan jointly handed-over the keys of auto-rickshaws equipped with ice boxes to two fishermen under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).

The initiative aims to empower fishermen by improving their transportation and storage facilities. The auto rickshaws with ice boxes will help ensure the freshness of fish during transit, reduce post-harvest losses, and enable better market access for the fishermen.
