“Choudhary will visit the Balidan Stambh at Pratap Park in Srinagar on the morning of January 26. Following the tributes at the Balidan Stambh, he will preside over the Republic Day function at Bakhshi Stadium Srinagar,” sources said.

This will be the first-ever visit and tribute by any Deputy Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir at the Balidan Stambh at Pratap Park.

It is being seen as a positive change in the political circles of Jammu and Kashmir that floral tributes are being paid to martyrs.

It is pertinent to mention that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha inaugurated the Balidan Stambh on August 15. The memorial was constructed at a cost of Rs 4.8 crore. (JKNS)
