Mughal Road from Dogran-Peer-ki-Gali Stretch Closed for Traffic Due to Frost and Sub-Zero Temperatures

Srinagar: The Mughal Road has been temporarily closed for vehicular traffic due to deteriorating conditions caused by frost and sub-zero temperatures, an official order stated.

As per an official order issued by district Magistrate Poonch a copy of which lies with news agency JKNS reads, Whereas, Dy-Superintendent of Police Traffic Rajouri/Poonch (Hqrs) Rajouri vide letter No: DY-SP/TRF/MISC/25/39-41 dated: 15-01-2025 has intimated that the condition of Mughal Road has been deteriorating due to frost and sub zero temperature, rendering it unsafe for vehicular movement.

Whereas, in view of the prevailing weather condition and as a precautionary measures to avoid any accident or untoward incidents, it is deemed necessary to close the Mughal road temporarily for traffic.

Now, therefore, in the interest of public safety, it is hereby ordered that the Mughal road shall remain closed from Km 19 (Dogran) to Km 43 (Peer Ki Gali) stretch for all vehicular traffic with immediated effect, till further orders, reads the order. (JKNS)
