Army Conducts Shaan-E-Varmul Award Ceremony At Baramulla

Srinagar: Baramulla witnessed a first of its kind award ceremony to recognise the individuals in various fields who have contributed to the community in Baramulla. In an exceptionally vibrant yet distinguished ceremony at Thimayya Hall on 15th Jan 2025, dignitaries, achievers, and common citizens gathered to honour outstanding individuals who have made remarkable contributions to the growth and upliftment of society across various sectors.

The awardees were shortlisted through an exhaustive nomination-cum-vote by the civil society in Baramulla, and a exhaustive verification process by an esteemed panel of respected persons across the district in ten significant categories. The ceremony reflected Baramulla’s spirit of unity and highlighted the pivotal role of community engagement in fostering development. On the occasion, The Chief Guest expressed profound admiration for the awardees, emphasising their relentless dedication that serves as an inspiration for future generations.

The event was organised by the Dagger Division of Chinar Corps on the occasion of Army Day. “Shaan-e-Varmul is an initiative that recognises and celebrates the outstanding contributions of individuals who have made a positive impact on Baramulla and to honour their selfless service, dedication, and perseverance, inspiring others to contribute to the growth and development of the community, and fostering a sense of community pride and ownership”. GOC Chinar Corps felicitated Veterans, Veer Matas and Veer Naris in General Bipin Rawat Stadium, Baramulla. The Dagger Division hosted a vibrant gathering featuring cultural performances, folk dances, military band displays, and local artistic expressions, creating a festive environment in honour of the Bravehearts of the Nation.

Shaan-e-Varmul highlighted the importance of recognising local heroes, inspiring collective action to build a better Baramulla. The event emphasised the value of innovation, talent and inclusivity across all sectors. It celebrated individual achievements while inspiring a sense of shared responsibility.
