Srinagar: Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, the Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir today chaired a meeting for the preparedness of arrangements for upcoming Meraj-Aalam festivities. The meeting was attended by the representatives from different concerned departments. A comprehensive roadmap for coordinated working by all the departments in collaboration with J&K Waqf Board at different shrines and religious places was discussed. Dr Andrabi instructed the departmental representatives to ensure that timely finalization of arrangements and facility delivery be ensured keeping in mind the weather situations in the valley. She thanked the administration for the support in making proper festival management at all major religious places possible. Dr Andrabi also appealed to the people to continue supporting us for more and more updated and upgraded facilities at all concerned places. Dr Darakhshan paid obeisance at Dargah Hazratbal and took stock of the ongoing renovation at the shrine.
Waqf Board Chairperson later visited the fire victims at Dargah Hazratbal and handed over on the spot cheques of one lakh rupees to every affected household. “We are presenting our relief contribution from the Board but we all at our individual levels have also to contribute for the people in misery around us”, said Darakhshan.
