Srinagar: President J&K National Conference President Dr. Farooq Abdullah Thursday asked Women to emerge as pivotal agents of change in the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Body elections in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a public meeting at Sodhi Resort, Barnoti District Kathua Dr. Farooq in his speech emphasized the importance of women stepping forward as key agents of change in the upcoming Panchayat and Urban Local Body elections in Jammu and Kashmir. “It is crucial for women to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our region through active participation in the democratic process. Our party has a legacy of prioritizing women’s empowerment, and we will continue this tradition with even greater resolve,” he said.
Highlighting the incredible contributions of Madr-e-Meharban, who played a pivotal role in the socio-political movement of Jammu and Kashmir and advocated for female literacy and empowerment of marginalized communities, Dr. Farooq emphasized that J&K National Conference has a proud history of supporting women, regardless of their background.
“Under the leadership of Omar Abdullah, the present government is unwavering in its commitment to empower women and ensure their rightful place in society. The party has always been a staunch advocate for women’s rights and will continue to prioritize their inclusion and representation in all aspects of life.
It is imperative that we recognize and celebrate the achievements of women like Madr-e-Meharban and continue to work towards a more equitable and inclusive society for all. National Conference stands firm in its dedication to supporting and empowering women, and will continue to champion their cause with unwavering determination.”
