Beirut: Five journalists were killed in an Israeli strike on an Al-Quds TV vehicle in the central Gaza Strip, the Palestinian government said on Thursday.

“Five journalists were killed in an Israeli strike on a vehicle carrying equipment for live broadcasts of the Al-Quds TV channel in the Nuseirat camp in the center of the Gaza Strip,” the government said in a statement.

Meanwhile Five Palestinians were killed, and 20 others were injured in an Israeli airstrike on a house in the Zeitoun neighborhood of the city of Gaza, Al Jazeera reported on Thursday.

In addition, five journalists from Palestine’s Quds News Network were killed in an Israeli airstrike near the Al Awda hospital in Gaza, the report said.

The journalists were filming a report in the Nuseirat refugee camp when their vehicle was hit by the Israeli military, the report noted.

On October 7, 2023, Israel was subjected to an unprecedented rocket attack from the Gaza Strip. In addition, fighters of Palestinian movement Hamas infiltrated the border areas, opened fire on the military and civilians and took hostages. Israeli authorities say that about 1,200 people were killed during the raid. In response, the Israel Defense Forces launched Operation Iron Swords in Gaza and announced a complete blockade of the enclave. The death toll from the Israeli attacks has surpassed 45,300 in the Gaza Strip, according to local health authorities.
