Police Conducts Distt-Wide Inspection of SIM Vendors to Curb SIM Misuse in Ang

Srinagar : Police in Anantnag on Saturday conducted a comprehensive district-wide inspection of SIM card vendors. The initiative aimed to ensure strict compliance with guidelines for SIM card sales and activations while supporting law enforcement efforts.
The inspection focused on verifying adherence to Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, proper documentation, and preventing unauthorized issuance of SIM cards. Vendors were monitored to ensure their operations comply with all legal and regulatory requirements. The police underscored the importance of SIM vendors in safeguarding communication systems and advised them to strictly adhere to KYC procedures. Vendors were warned that any non-compliance would attract severe legal action, including penalties, cancellation of licenses, and prosecution. Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to report any suspicious activities or irregularities concerning SIM card sales or usage. This collaborative effort aims to enhance the security and safety of the community.
